In preparation for potential landfall and storms created by Hurricane Delta, Magnolia Water crews have “storm hardened” all water systems, including:
• Ensuring adequate chlorine supplies are at all sites and are secured from any impacts of the storms;
• Locking down all systems and removing any onsite loose materials;
• Sufficiently fueling generators and making sure all generators are operating properly; and,
• Making sure each system has automatic switchover generators or have a portable power source available for dispatch in the event of a power outage.

For wastewater systems, Magnolia Water crews have prepared by:
• Having a surplus of chlorine supplies available to handle the impacts of the storm;
• Activated personnel ready to move the plants into storm mode if stormwater infiltrates the plant;
• Locking down all systems and removing any loose materials to prevent impact from high winds; and,
• Closely monitoring lift stations closely in order to deploy backup power in the event of an outage.

As hurricane season progresses, Magnolia Water is urging customers to stay informed about storm locations and paths. For more information on how to prepare for a hurricane, customers can visit www.magnoliawateruoc.com. Additionally, visit https://www.nhc.noaa.gov/.
